Who operates Bin Buddy
Bin Buddy operates this local curb-out and curb-back service from 306 Southmoor Oaks Ct, Cary, NC 27518. Until a separate legal entity is identified here, references to “Bin Buddy,” “we,” and “us” mean the owner and operator of the Bin Buddy service.
Information we collect
We collect account details, contact information, service addresses, collection schedules, bin counts, precise bin map coordinates, property and access instructions (which may include a gate code), support messages, service photographs, service history, consent records, device and basic usage information, and Stripe billing identifiers. Stripe processes payment-card details; Bin Buddy does not store complete card numbers.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, confirm eligibility, schedule and perform service, optimize routes, send transactional notifications, provide support, prevent fraud, maintain records, and improve Bin Buddy.
Site analytics and local storage
We record basic page visits and checkout milestones to understand whether the site and signup process work correctly. The checkout uses browser local storage to preserve form progress on your device. We do not use this information for third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral advertising, and browsers that send a Do Not Track preference are excluded from page-view tracking.
Live route location
While a Bin Buddy runs an active route, customers can see their number of remaining stops. Only the customer who is next can see the Bin Buddy's current location. Customer-facing coordinates are cleared when the Bin Buddy advances or finishes the route.
Property access information
Gate codes and access notes are limited to authorized Bin Buddies and administrators who need them to perform service. Customers should not submit alarm codes, financial information, or unrelated sensitive information.
Service photographs
Service photographs may be stored in private cloud storage and made available only to the associated customer and authorized Bin Buddy personnel.
When we disclose information
We disclose information only as needed to operate Bin Buddy: to authorized Bin Buddies and administrators performing service; to service providers supporting hosting, authentication, storage, payments, mapping, routing, and email; when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-site behavioral advertising.
Vendors
We use service providers including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, Mapbox for maps and routing, Resend for email, and Vercel for hosting. They receive only the information reasonably needed for their functions and process information under their agreements and privacy terms.
Retention
Active account, address, access, scheduling, and service information is retained while needed to provide service. Checkout consent and transaction records are generally retained for up to seven years for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute purposes. Routine service photographs and precise live-route records are generally retained for up to 90 days unless needed for an active issue. Gate codes are retained while the associated address requires access and should be deleted or replaced when no longer needed. Support records are generally retained for up to three years. We may retain information longer when reasonably necessary for litigation, a legal hold, security, or another legal obligation.
Security and incident response
We use role-based access controls, private storage where appropriate, encrypted connections, and restricted access to property information. We maintain an incident-response process to investigate suspected unauthorized access, contain incidents, preserve relevant records, and provide legally required notices. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Email choices
Customers may manage service-email preferences from the link in each Bin Buddy email or from the dashboard. Waitlist members may unsubscribe from expansion emails using the unsubscribe link in each waitlist email. Essential account, security, and billing messages may still be sent when necessary to provide or protect the service.
Children
Bin Buddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The person creating an account and purchasing service must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
Your choices
You may update service instructions and billing through your dashboard. You may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information by contacting support. Some transaction and service records may be retained where legally or operationally required.
